Mark Salling's death investigation has closed and officials have declared his death a suicide by hanging, and specifically mention that there was nothing found at the scene to point to drug use by the late actor.
According to the L.A. County Coroner, the official cause is asphyxia by hanging. The manner is listed as a suicide.
Officials also note that there was no drug paraphernalia found near Mark's body in the Tujunga riverbed. The area where the "Glee" actor hung himself is frequented by transients and drug users, and investigators have determined that nothing near the death scene belonged to Mark or played a part in his death.
We're told Salling's body is now ready to be released to his family. Toxicology tests have also been ordered, but those will take several weeks to get the results.
As we previously reported, Salling was familiar with the area where he ultimately ended his life.
