In fact, he found out about the cast getting back together after it was reported by several outlets this week.

"I read it in the trades just like everybody else this morning,” he told Variety on Monday evening.

“Honestly, I was never approached. I woke up to the news this morning with a kind of ‘huh’ response," the actor added.

But don't count him out.

Gosselaar, who played the hunky rule breaker in the hit series, says he's open to join the reboot, they just have to ask.

“I’ve always been interested, of course,” he responded when asked if he'd reprise the role.

Gosselaar appears just as dumbfounded as fans regarding the news. Searching for answers, he chalked it up to a potential business conflict.

“I’m on ABC, so it doesn’t really fit into that considering Disney Plus, so I understand the business side of things,” he said. “But I had no idea it was that far along.”

FYI -- He's currently starring on the upcoming ABC show, "Mixed-ish."

Governor Morris?

The Blast confirmed that NBC will be airing the "Saved By The Bell" revival on its streaming network, Peacock, and they already have a role description for the grown-up version of Zack Morris.

The show logline read, “When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.”

So far, Mario Lopez (who played A.C. Slater) and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) are the only official castmates signed onto the reboot.

The Wrap reports, deals for other cast members are still being negotiated.

"Saved By The Bell" was on the air from 1989 until 1992.

Besides the three stars already mentioned, the Bayside High gang included Dustin Diamond (Screech), Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski).

Peacock is set to launch in April 2020 and will compete with Netflix, Apple+ and Disney+.
