'Royal Family Set' Missing A Couple Pieces

Amid Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's announcement that they're stepping back from their role as senior members in the royal family, managers of Madame Tussauds wax museum in London say the two figures have been removed from the rest of the family.

The wax figures of Meghan and Harry are now separate from the wax figures of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now separate.

The gallery will be relocating the wax figures of the Duke and Duchess to another area in the gallery, which hasn't been announced yet.

Some Space To Rent Next To the Queen

According to general manager of Madame Tussauds London Steve Davies:

“Alongside the rest of the world, we are reacting to the surprising news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be stepping back as senior royals. From today Meghan and Harry’s figures will no longer appear in our Royal Family set."

The two pieces of artwork first appeared days before Meghan and Harry got married in May, 2018. Meghan is wearing a green dress. According to The Sun, there's now an "awkward empty gap" in their place.

They're Just Relocating

Davies added that the two figures won't be leaving the gallery entirely.

"As two of our most popular and well-loved figures, they will of course remain an important feature at Madame Tussauds London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for them,” Davies added.

Meghan and Harry dropped a bombshell on the Royal family yesterday after making the announcement they would be stepping back from their duties in the family.

The two released a statement on Instagram saying they'd be spending more time in North America, while still holding allegiance to the royals. They also said they planned to become "financially independent."

Making Their Exit

Social media piled on to the growing brouhaha stemming from the museum's decision to separate the Sussexes.

"There's a whole damn war going on and there's massive bush fires in Australia yet Madame Tussauds' thought they'd be 'petty' by removing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the Royal family display?! It's not even been 24hrs, they're still royalty, just choose to live differently," wrote @SimoneStyles11.

"Is it just me or is this not a bit pathetic?" asked @joelymack.

Breaking the Internet

The couple's statement sent shockwaves through the family as well as fans of them.

Part of their statement reads:

"We have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment."

The Sussexes said they arrived at the decision "after many months of reflection and internal discussions."

The Royal family put out their own statement, saying it was an internal matter that still needed to be worked out.
