Kimbella has launched a petition asking fans to support her attempt to get the rapper released ASAP. Juelz is currently incarcerated at the medium-security federal correctional institution, FCI Petersburg in Hopewell, Virginia. His release date is scheduled for February 23, 2021.
The petition reads, “#FreeJuelzSantana AKA Laron James needs to be freed during this pandemic to be with his family.” Kimbella says Juelz has been on lockdown for two weeks because of the health safety issues.
She ended, “He has served 13 months at FCI Petersburg and should be allowed to serve the rest of his sentence on home confinement. BOP & Honorable Judge Chesler can make this happen for Laron. He is a good husband, father, son, brother, friend and has a positive media influence as a legendary rap artist. We need you to sign this petition to get Laron James aka Juelz Santana home.”
The petition has nearly 3,000 signatures already and is close to reaching the goal of 5,000.
As The Blast previously reported, Juelz checked into prison back in March 2019. He was able to push back the surrender date after asking the judge if he could film the “Love & Hip Hop: New York” reunion show.
Back in 2018, Juelz was indicted on two federal firearm charges relating to him bringing a .38-caliber Derringer to Newark Liberty International airport. The rapper entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 27 months in prison.
In December, Kimbella shared a photo of Juelz inside prison writing, “F–k out of here 2019!! Summer 2020 my HUSBAND will be home, bring on the new year so we can start our new beginning!! We did our longest leg in the feds now we’re on our shortest leg count down til he comes, the kids and I are so looking forward to it! This year was tough but we got through it through the grace of GOD! I am grateful my husband is doing well doing what he has to do. Juelz says WHAT UP and he’ll be home soon.
