“Little Women: LA” star Christy Gibel wants out of her marriage after 4-years of wedded turmoil.
According to court records obtained by The Blast, Gibel filed for an annulment Friday in L.A. against husband Todd Gibel.
The interesting thing is the Gibels have been married since 2014, so one would think she would want a divorce, rather than an anullment.
Unlike divorce, an annulment is retroactive and classifies the marriage invalid from the start, essentially wiping it off the books.
It’s unclear what grounds she plans on using to go for an annulment, but obviously she feels like the marriage was never valid in the first place. She will have to present the evidence at court to prove her case, or may have to end up just filing for regular ol’ divorce.
As we reported, Christy, who also starred in the 2002 dark comedy, “Death to Smoochy,” alongside the late Robin Williams, recently got a restraining order against her estranged husband.
According to her documents, Christy claimed she told Todd that the marriage “was not working” and they should figure out their next steps.
In response, she said Todd began to “yell and threaten” her and broke several household items. She also claimed Todd began posting about their relationship on Instagram, which she says led to her being harassed online.
In the end, Todd was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Christy and her 19-year-old daughter, Autumn. He was also ordered to move out of the couple’s home in Santa Clarita, CA.
41-year-old Christy already has two children, Autumn and Trenton, from her first marriage. Her and Todd never had any kids, but their discussions over starting a family of their own was covered on “Little Women: LA.”
