Lohan Announces Her Return

With the rapid and dangerous spread of COVID-19, much of the world is on lockdown right now. Coronavirus has caused major disruptions in virtually every industry, including the different facets of the entertainment industry. Many projects are being postponed or put on indefinite hold due to the pandemic.

For example, Lady Gaga announced that her upcoming album Chromatica would be pushed back from it's original April 10th release date. She explained:

"This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn't feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic."

However, not everyone is taking that approach. Sensing that the time was ripe for a little chaos, Lindsay Lohan announced on Tuesday that she would be releasing her first new music in 12 years.

New Music On The Way

Lohan dropped a teaser video on her social media accounts (deleting all previous posts), and it doesn't offer a lot of details about what to expect from her upcoming single or album. The slightly creepy video features a grainy montage of some of Lohan's famous paparazzi moments and headlines, before it ends with Lohan ominously saying "I'm back."

Lohan's last music was the 2008 single "Bossy," and Lohan has largely been out of the spotlight in recent years. She had an MTV show about her luxury resort in Mykonos, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, but the show was cancelled after one season and Lohan eventually abandoned the resort.

People Are... Confused

The odd video and timing -- really, Lindsay? During a pandemic? -- have proven baffling to people online. However, people love an underdog story and a celebrity train wreck, and Lohan has been both at different points in her career, so it's safe to say that there is definitely some interest.

"Lindsay Lohan really would properly announce an actual music comeback on April Fools’ Day in the middle of a pandemic."

"Nobody move Lindsay Lohan is teasing what is appearing to be her Reputation era on Instagram"

Twitter took time out from tweeting about coronavirus, Animal Crossing, and Tiger King in order to welcome (?) Lohan back.

"Lindsay Lohan making her music comeback during a world-wide pandemic is the most Linday Lohan thing Lindsay Lohan has ever done."

"Lindsay Lohan had two amazing albums and certified bops but none of you want to talk about that."

"lindsay lohan and amanda bynes are back in the headlines. we're done for."
