Lily Collins says she was visited by the ghosts of Ted Bundy‘s past while filming “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.”
The actress, who plays the serial killer’s girlfriend in the upcoming biopic, opened up to The Observer about supernatural surprises that awoke her at 3:00 AM every day.
“I would go downstairs and have a cup of tea, trying to figure out why I had woken up again,” Collins said. “I started being woken up by flashes of images, like the aftermath of a struggle.”
She tells the magazine that she began to believe it was the women who were murdered by Bundy that were trying to contact her. Saying after conducting a little research, she “discovered that 3:00 AM is the time when the veil between the realms is the thinnest and one can be visited.”
Collins added, “I didn’t feel scared – I felt supported. I felt like people were saying: ‘We’re here listening. We’re here to support. Thank you for telling the story.'”
Collins stars alongside Zac Efron, who plays a charismatic Bundy.
“Extremely Wicked” follows her character’s relationship and her struggle with Bundy after it’s discovered he’s a cold-blooded murderer.
It premieres on Netflix this Friday.
