Lil Wayne Bails On Blink-182 Show In Southern California, Absences Appear Deliberate

By Mike Walters

Lil Wayne was a no-show on the latest tour stop with Blink-182. The rapper was scheduled to perform last night in Southern California but cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances."

According to people who attended the show, as fans made their way through the doors at Five Points Amphitheater in Irvine, CA they were hit with a sign that read, "Due to unforeseen circumstances Lil Wayne will not be performing tonight."

We're told many attendees were extremely upset, because part of the reason they bought tickets in the first place was to see Blink-182 AND Lil Wayne in concert.

Fans online have speculated as to the reason Wayne bailed on this specific venue, even citing the recent issues the area has had with students in a local high school doing Nazi salutes in a student gathering.

However, minutes before the concert, Weezy tweeted out a reason, telling fans, "Due to issues with the plane I’m sorry to say I won’t be able to make the show in Irvine tonight. Portland I’ll see you Friday ~ Tune."

Sources close to the tour tell us, this is not the first time the hip-hop star has cancelled a show at the last minute.

We're actually told this is the 3rd time it has happened while on the summer tour.

One source pointed out that all 3 times he bailed, it was on a venue that guaranteed a smaller crowd than his usual stadium or arena performances, and our sources believe the rapper is intentionally skipping out on the smaller crowds.

Other fans of the rapper are worried this could be another indicator that he may not stay on the tour.

In July, Lil Wayne called it quits on the same tour just four songs into a performance in Virgina. At the time, Wayne threatened to abandon the rest of the tour due to small crowd sizes and told the audience,

“Please forgive me, but I am so not used to performing to a crowd and there’s not too many, you know, like still, that’s not my swag, I’m not sure how long I’m gonna be able to do this tour."

The next day however, Weezy took to Twitter to reassure fans he wasn't gone for good:

"Yesterday was krazy! But I want all my fans to know I won’t be quitting this tour,” he tweeted. “I’m having too much fun with my bros blink-182. Bangor, ME See you tomorrow!”
