LeBron James is doing more than promising his new school will be more than just a regular ol' facility, in fact he's putting it on the merchandise.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, James' trademark company recently applied for the rights to merchandise "I PROMISE School, More Than a School" for the purposes of selling t-shirts, sweatshirts and headwear.
The application filing also lists that the slogan will be used in connection with "Providing classroom instruction at the 1st to 8th grade level; educational services."
The new Los Angeles Lakers star opened up the school this week in Akron, Ohio. 240 at-risk children will begin the 3rd and 4th grade, with plans to expand to the other grades as the years go on. The school is a joint partnership between the city of Akron and the Lebron James Family Foundation.
James spoke at the opening of the school and said his goal was "to create an environment of family and not like a workplace."
Along with the education and provided meals, James also announced that each student will receive a bicycle and a helmet. Pretty awesome.
