In 1990, Whitney Houston released her quadruple platinum third studio album, "I'm Your Baby Tonight." In Japan, a bonus track included a cover of Steve Winwood's 1986 hit single, "Higher Love".

Now, the Norwegian DJ has remixed Houston's cover.

A teaser video posted on Kygo's Instagram page tells the backstory of the single. "Whitney re-recorded the song in 1991, originally intended for her third album I’m Your Baby Tonight," the video explains. He says, “It was never officially released… until now.”

A few hours later, Kygo took to his IG to unveil the posthumous collaboration cover art, stating "Higher Love with @whitneyhouston is out now! I’m incredibly honored to have been able to work on this amazing vocal from one of the most legendary artists of all time! Hope you guys love it as much as I do."

Whitney Houston's estate, earlier this year stated that the singer's legacy would live on in the form of new albums, unreleased tracks, and even a possible hologram.

In May Pat Houston, Whitney's sister-in-law and former manager, spoke to The New York Times about projects the estate has in the works.

She explained that since Whitney's passing in 2012 the people in charge of her estate were in the process of grieving and not interested in business details. However, now they are prepared to work on the next chapter of Whitney's story.
