Kurt Sutter Trolled Disney With Cryptic Post Hours Before Firing

By Gary Trock

Kurt Sutter dropped a major hint that he had been canned from FX hours before the new publicly broke, and it all centers around his disdain for Disney.

The former "Mayans M.C." showrunner shared a post to Instagram on Wednesday evening of the iconic Mickey's Fun Wheel at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim, CA.

"The happiest place on earth..." Sutter captioned the pic, while making sure to disable the comments on that particular post.

Roughly 14 hours later, on Thursday, it was reported that the "Sons of Anarchy" creator had been dismissed from FX and his role on "Mayans" following his behavior as an "abrasive dick."

In a letter obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Sutter told the "Mayans" cast that he had been let go after Disney HR "conducted an investigation into the unacceptable conditions that have been created on the set of Mayans in season 2."

FX became part of The Walt Disney Company during Disney's $71.3 billion merger with FOX, and Sutter revealed that he was spoken to about the "current climate" and his infamous management practices.

Although it's been reported that Sutter's overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV remains intact, it's unclear if the outspoken producer will nuke that deal as well.

Sutter announced his expected departure from "Mayans" before the Season 2 premiere, but obviously did not mention any of the drama going on behind the scenes with studio executives.

The future for the "Mayans" also hangs in the balance, as Sutter's letter to the cast and crew hinted that the show may be done after the current season.

"I’m not sure what the fate of Mayans MC holds. But if it continues, you’ll still be in good hands," he wrote.
