Rapper Kodak Black just had multiple weapons charges against him dismissed after his lawyer, and the Florida State Attorney, worked out a deal to allow him to enter court-ordered drug treatment.

We're told both felony charges of 'possession of a firearm by a prohibited person,' have been dismissed -- which could have carried a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

Kodak's attorney, Bradford Cohen, tells The Blast, "The State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and her team sat down with me and listened to everything I had to say about Kodak."

He continued, "At the end of the conversation, they were concerned that he couldn't get into the court-ordered drug treatment with an open case and a max security prison. They agreed that the fair thing to do was to dismiss the case, so he can attend drug treatment and a lower security prison."

He added, "Mrs. Rundle was amazing in her understanding and willingness to listen."

As we reported, Kodak Black is currently serving a three year and ten-month federal prison sentence which stems from the same surrounding circumstances. He is locked up in a maximum-security prison in Kentucky.

According to prosecutors, Kodak bought or try to buy guns and ammo at weapon's supply store in Flordia on two separate occasions. But, they argued Black had a felony conviction for armed robbery in 2103, so he didn't have the right to buy a firearm.

The Florida State's Attorney's office charged Kodak Black with a second felony charge, which stems from the allegation the rapper was found in possession of a gun on the night of the Rolling Loud Music Festival. At the time, officials noted the weapon was NOT one of the guns purchased at the supply store.

While serving out his three-year sentence, Kodak Black has complained he is being held in a maximum-security prison and has been mistreated by authorities.

His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, has been lobbying for Kodak to be moved and placed in a different facility and location that properly reflects his sentence. It appears having a really good lawyer has just paid off.

As we said, now that the state weapons case has been dismissed, it now opens the door for the rapper to enter a lower security prison and attended a drug treatment program.
