Kim Kardashian's 'Skims' Website Crashes Ahead Of Shapewear Line Launch

By Mike Walters

Kim Kardashian has a pretty good problem on her hands, because there is such a stampede to purchase her new shapewear line that the website crashed before the items even went on sale!

Luckily, the tech team is on it and all should be fixed.

Kim's mom, Kris Jenner, just posted a message on Twitter telling fans and buyers that the launch as been pushed back by an hour.

"Hi guys!! @skims is now launching at 10am pst!!! "Due to overwhelming response, the enormous traffic in last hour has created a tech issue with the @skims site for launch. Our @skims launch time has been pushed back by 1 hour and we will go live at 10am PST," she tweeted.

Obviously, if the response is big enough to crash the companies website, the Kardashian's can count this hiccup as a success.

The 'Skims' line has not been without its issues, her original name, Kimono, was accused of cultural appropriation.

Daisaku Kadokawa, the mayor of Kyoto, personally wrote the reality star to express his concern over the use of a word. Eventually, Kim listened and changed the name. “My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me–I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name,” she posted about the change.

The product is a passion of Kim's after explaining she has been creating her own shapewear for years. “I feel like I’ve been designing shapewear for 15 years...every time I’d travel I’d bring sets of shapewear with scissors and a needle and a thread.”

'Skims' is set to launch in a few minutes, lets hope the ship holds together tight.
