The insurance company that was forced to pay out $6.1 million for the jewelry stolen from Kim Kardashian in 2016 is now suing her former bodyguard and security company claiming their negligence led to the robbery.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, AIG Property Casual Company — who paid out the insurance claim to Kim — is suing a company called PROTECTSECURITY and Pascal Duvier, Kim's personal bodyguard (seen above with Kim on the day of the robbery).

In their lawsuit, AIG claims the Paris hotel where Kim was staying was "missing a lock and/or the lock was broken" and an intercom was out. They claim the defendants failed to correct either "security breach."

They also tag Duvier for leaving Kim "alone without any security detail" when the robbery went down. According to reports, Duvier had left to escort Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner to a party.

AIG lays the blame clearly on Protect and Duvier, saying, "As a result of Defendants' failure to address and correct the various security breaches in the Hotel and leaving the Insured in her hotel room alone ... the masked men were able to enter the Hotel and rob the Insured of her personal property."

The insurance company is looking to recoup what they were forced to shell out — $6,116,067.

Among the items stolen from Kim Kardashian was a 20-karat Lorraine Schwartz emerald-cut diamond engagement ring valued at $4 million.
