Kid Rock is accused of breaking the law by allegedly running a political campaign without following the rules.
According to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission, Common Cause says Rock started collecting campaign donations and acting like a legitimate candidate without filing the proper paperwork stating his intentions to run for office.
Rock, a very outspoken republican, announced his candidacy in July to represent Michigan in the Senate.
The political watchdog points out Rock is already selling campaign merchandise on his website, and also blames his music label, Warner Bros., for assisting the rocker without official documents filed.
They are demanding the FEC and U.S. Dept of Justice investigate Kid Rock's activities.
