UPDATE

3:45 PM PT: — Kevin Hart just took to his IG page seemingly deflecting the issue. Instead of apologizing for his past tweets, the comedic blasted critics saying, "if you want to hold people in a position where there always have to justify and explain their past, do you."

Kevin Hart is in hot water with GLAAD after deleting several homophobic tweets following the announcement he will be hosting the Oscars.

Rich Ferraro, Chief Communications Officer for GLAAD, tells The Blast, "GLAAD reached out to ABC, The Academy and Kevin Hart’s management to discuss his rhetoric and record as well as opportunities for positive LGBTQ inclusion on the Oscars stage. They have not yet responded."

After the news broke that Hart would be the host of the Oscars, he deleted several homophobic tweets. In 2011, Hart wrote, "Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay."

He also deleted several tweets that used the F-word and one where he referred to someone as "a gay bill board for AIDS."

In a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone, Hart was quoted as saying, "Keep in mind, I'm not homophobic... Be happy. Do what you want to do. But me, as a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will."

The Blast reached out to Hart for comment — so far, no word back.
