Kendrick Lamar brought up a white fan to rap during his show, but things got extremely awkward when she dropped the n-word in front of a packed house, and even surprised the hip-hop star.

Lamar was performing at Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama when he invited a young fan up on stage to rap for his song, "M.A.A.D. City."

The girl, named Delaney, hopped on stage and didn't hesitate with the lyrics ... including repeating the n-word multiple times. The crowd immediately turned on her with hisses and boos.

Lamar eventually shut the music down and told her that he thought she knew the rules, but the girl was perplexed as to why Lamar and the crowd were so upset. He told her that she could keep going if she "bleeped" one word, and after realizing what he was talking about she apologized.

There is now a debate going on as to whether the young girl should have had enough sense to not utter the word, or whether Kendrick should have given her some guidance about how to navigate those controversial waters in front of a live crowd.
