Kendall Jenner is being slammed for sporting a new set of cornrows, and her critics are accusing the model of cultural appropriation.
“She Never Learns…Yet another time that Kendall Jenner has appropriated black culture,” one person lashed out on Twitter.
The reality star and model was photographed out in L.A. with with the braids several times this month.
She even posted multiple Instagram stories of her new hairdo, and was clearly feeling the look.
Fans and critics were quick to call her out, many referencing how white people do not face discrimination in the way black people do. What made matters worse is this is not the first time people have been upset with the Kardashians for similar issues.
“I’m EXHAUSTED of white people constantly appropriating black culture and wearing hairstyles that we are always ridiculed/ chastised for having and just doing it because they want to ‘look different’ or ‘stand out,” one person wrote.
Another remarked, “We wear these hairstyles to PROTECT our natural hair from damages but they wanna wear it because it looks cool. It shouldn’t be worn by them period.”
According to reports, others were even more upset, “These white women no longer have to think for themselves. They just exploit and steal from black women but are the ones who are praised for it.” “Can she come up with something else??? This act is getting redundant now.”
Kim Kardashian had also previously been accused of a similar move after she called herself, “Bo West” last January, along with a picture of herself in blonde rows.
So far, Kendall or the Kardashians have not addressed the controversy.
