Kelly Ripa's daughter may be away at college but her talk show mom still pays the bills and that's why she "shut down" Lola Consuelos' debit card after the 18-year-old kept ordering Postmates. On Tuesday's episode of "Live with Kelly and Ryan," the 49-year-old mom of three discussed her New York University freshman daughter's spending habits. Despite having a meal plan at school, Ripa revealed that Lola had been opting for the popular food delivery app quite a bit and her parents were stuck with the bill.

“I didn’t know our daughter had Postmates,” she told Ryan Seacrest and their audience. “She’s at college and we signed her up for a meal plan, cause we’re not monsters. We signed her up for a meal program.” Revealing Lola "doesn’t like the meals at school so she was ordering Postmates,” Kelly Ripa explained, “Here’s what would happen. She would order the $7 salad but it would cost $25 dollars to have it delivered three blocks in New York City.”

All Postmates users know all those taxes and delivery fees quickly add up. So when Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, got the monthly bill, they were shocked and wanted to show Lola that money doesn't grow on trees. “Oh we shut down that debit card account she had,” the host revealed. Lola Consuelos is the famous couple's second child and things got emotional when they dropped her off at her dorms back in August.

Both Kelly Ripa and her "Riverdale" star husband paid tribute to their daughter after shipping her down the road to college. "The nest is getting roomy…?," Ripa said at the time. “2 down… 1 to go…❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Consuelos shared. While NYU isn't far from home, Kelly Ripa wants Lola and her oldest child, who also attends the college, to make the most of their experience. "Your friends go, ‘At least she’s nearby’ and I go, ‘Yeah, but that’s not good’ because if she feels homesick, I have to say to her, ‘No, you can’t come home, you’re gonna have to work it out … whatever you’re going through, figure it out," she said.
