Keanu Reeves doesn't make headlines very often since the actor is a very private person. But, when he does make the headlines, it is usually pretty interesting. In fact, he is now in the news because of his new girlfriend, Alexandra Grant. Who is she and how did they meet in the first place?

Alexandra Grant is a 46-year-old artist. Reeves is now 55. She is from Los Angeles and is a jack-of-all-trades kind of artist. Meaning, she dabs in a little bit of everything including drawing, painting, photography, sculpting, and even video art.

There are reasons for Reeves being so private. Although many celebrities like to air out their dirty laundry, as the saying goes, to gain extra publicity, Reeves has never been like this. However, he has good reasons why he has never liked to share much about his personal life and romantic life.

Back in the late 90s, Reeves was romantically involved with a woman by the name of Jennifer Syme. However, tragedy came into their life when Syme gave birth to their daughter at eight-months pregnant. Although it was only one month early and the baby would have just been premature, the baby was deceased when she was born, making her a stillbirth.

As if that wasn't enough of a tragedy for a man to go through when not too long after the stillbirth happened, Syme was killed in a car accident. This was a tragic loss for Reeves and he didn't think he would ever experience love again.

Although he did seem to be dating actress, Claire Forlani in the early 2000s, he never went public with that relationship and told everyone they were just 'good friends.' Many of his fans believed he was set in his ways and would never date again, or publicly announce he was dating, that is.

Fans were shocked when they saw Reeves with Grant earlier this month. Although it seems like the two had just met, apparently, they have known each other for years now. The couple first met in 2011 when they worked on a book together titled, 'Ode to Happiness.' Reeves has been seen with Grant several more times after working on the book together.

The couple had an intimate Thanksgiving dinner in 2013. Then, in 2016, they worked on a second book together. The following year, they created their own publishing company.

They have been very good friends for years, it seems. Seeing as how they worked on not one, but two books together and even started their own publishing company together. However, recently they decided to take their friendship to the next level and started dating each other.

When exactly did the couple start becoming closer and romantically involved with each other exactly? No one knows for sure because neither Grant nor Reeves have opened up about anything. Although some say it was back in 2017 when they started dating, others say they didn't start seeing each other until early this year.

Although they haven't opened up much about their relationship and when they actually started dating, you can tell they are happy together. After all, since Reeves has always made it a point to never take his girlfriend's on the red carpet with him, breaking his own rule with Grant just makes us realize just how happy he is now.

Grant is very talented at what she does. Being an artist makes her talented in her own right, as it is already. Anyone can call themselves an artist but Grant is really good at what she does and the fact that she has many artistic talents is just a bonus.

Not only does Grant own her own art studio but she also speaks many different languages and is active in politics, seeing as how she showed her support for Hilary Clinton during the last election.

Reeves fans seem to support the 'new' couple. Many of them took to social media to share how happy they were for the couple and how fitting they are together since Grant is 46 and Reeves is now 55. His fans also commented on how charming and unique Grant is.
