Middleton showed up to the race in long pants, but soon changed into a sporty outfit of a white polo and jacket, navy baseball cap and navy shorts.

She was also rocking some clean New Balance sneakers.

Middleton seemed relaxed in her casual look, but it was a huge fashion statement for the royal, as it was the first time she was spotted in public wearing shorts since she married into the royal family.

The last time we saw Middleton's toned stems, she was attending the Day-Glo Midnight Roller Disco Party in London way back in September 2008.

At that time, she was wearing neon yellow shorts with a sequin green top ... along with some roller skates.

Since her roller skating days, Middleton typically wears formal dresses or long pants while out in public and attending official events.

The Duchess of Cambridge had a great time during the charity race, and also couldn't help but laugh afterwards when her daughter, Princess Charlotte, let the crowd know what she thought of the event.
