Kanye West has officially chosen his vice presidential running mate in his 2020 bid to become president, though his chances of winning the highest office in the land are slim.

West filed paperwork in Wisconsin on Tuesday and listed Michelle Tidball, a self-proclaimed "biblical life coach," as his partner in The Birthday Party.

Tidball has come under fire for allegedly once advocating making the bed and doing the laundry as ways to treat mental illness.

And West's political leanings also continue to come under scrutiny after a story by "The New York Times" reveals he has at least four conservative operatives in his presidential campaign.

New York Magazine, lists two people working for West's campaign who have partisan leanings. The story lists Gregg Keller, former executive director at the American Conservative Union, and Chuck Wilton, who is apparently a Trump convention delegate. Wilton could potentially push an Electoral College vote for West.

West is mainly known as a rapper, but has also displayed conservative political leanings.

"The Times" pointed out one particular campaigner who has faced voter fraud charges in the past.

"Mark Jacoby is an executive at a company called Let the Voters Decide, which has been collecting signatures for the West campaign in three states. Mr. Jacoby was arrested on voter fraud charges in 2008 while he was doing work for the California Republican Party, and he later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor."

Jacoby told "The Times":

“Like all Americans, anyone who is qualified to stand for election has the right to run."

The operatives raise concern that West is trying to run a spoiler campaign that will sway votes toward Donald Trump, the incumbent.

Some think West may be trying to swing votes toward Trump.

West, as a U.S. citizen who's older than 35, of course has the right to run for office, but given the fact that he's missed the filing deadlines in several states to appear on the November ballot, it remains highly unlikely that he could actually win the nomination and / or the presidency.

And throwing his hat into the ring as late as this July is only one part of the problem. His family says he's been suffering from a bipolar episode, and they've been trying to get him help. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, has faced scrutiny from fans who think she hasn't done enough to help him.

Even Roger Stone, Trump's political adviser, says West is facing an uphill battle at the ballot box.

“I really like Kanye West — I like his Christianity, and I like his rejection of identity politics,” Stone said.

But he also told "The Times" it was “too late to launch either an independent or a third-party candidacy, because more than half the state deadlines have passed.” Stone added that trying to gain any foothold in other states could prove “expensive and difficult.”
