Is Kanye West To Blame For 'KUWTK' Ending?

By Whitney Vasquez

The end of an era! "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" is ending after 14 years and while some loyal fans are placing the blame on Kourtney Kardashian, others are pointing the finger at Kanye West. Kim Kardashian shocked "KUWTK" viewers after making the jaw-dropping announcement that the family has decided to pull the plug on the popular series after 20 seasons. She also informed disappointed fans that they have one more season to look forward to which will air in 2021.

"It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Kim Kardashian wrote, before thanking those who have watched her family grow up on television. "We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children," she added.

While Kim Kardashian made sure to add that the decision was made "as a family," it didn't stop fans from immediately dishing out blame.

Some felt it was Kourtney Kardashian's flaunt since "KUWTK" fans have watched the oldest KarJenner sister pull away from the spotlight and refuse to film as much over the past few seasons. Viewers watched as Kim and Khloé Kardashian struggled to show more of their lives in order to fill spots when Kourtney opted out.

Others targeted Kim's husband Kanye West and the concerns over his mental health and possible divorce as the reasons for the famous family's decision to pull "KUWTK." When a North West Instagram parody posted its own version of Kim's public statement, fans began debating about whether it was because of Kanye West.

"TBH I don't blame them for canceling after the Kanye's continuing manic episodes - Kim shouldn't have to air anymore of that. He's done enough damage," one person wrote. "He's mentally ill- he deserves grace and to not have his dirty laundry on TV every Sunday at 9," added another.

"Stop it. there's enough ways for them to make money and be on brand. Kim will be a lawyer, Kanye is running/walking for president. The focus is not a reality tv show. They've elevated," commented a third. As of this post, neither Kanye and Kourtney have not addressed the speculation but Kourt did say she needs time to "gather" her thoughts.
