By TheBlast Staff on March 4, 2019 at 11:48 PM EST

Jussie Smollett was the victim of a real attack (verbally, at least) when he suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of "Orange of the New Black" star Danielle Brooks during his appearance on "Drop the Mic" and The Blast has a look at the pulled episode.

During the course of the rap battle, Brooks spit a few "Empire" jokes ("I watch 'Empire,' I got questions though / How are you Terrence Howard's son when you can't hustle or flow?") and made a crack about how Smollett proves "not all gay men can sing and dance well."

As for Smollett, he got a few good jabs in but he weirdly forecasted his own fate when he dropped a line about Brooks' "OITNB" character being in jail, rapping, "How long is your character gonna be in jail? If it gets you off the show, then I will pay your bail."

But Brooks came back and capped off her final verse with an epic "Lion King" dig and was crowned the winner by Method Man.

"Drop the Mic" — which airs Wednesdays at 10:00 PM on TNT — decided not to air the episode when Jussie Smollett was arrested on February 21 on charges of filing a false police report.

Smollett was released later that day after posting $100,000 bail.

His legal team released a statement after the charges were announced, saying, “Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked. Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense.”

"Empire" producers decided to cut Smollett from the show's final two episodes of the season, explaining, "We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of ‘Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season."
