Hough was at ABC's live screening and red carpet for the upcoming season this week, and told US Weekly, "It’s nothing personal to anybody."
She went on to explain how the cut could be a blessing in disguise for the dancer, who is currently dating WWE star Nikki Bella.
"Sometimes, the greatest part of not being asked is actually an opportunity for more to open up for you. I have one instance in my life where somebody didn’t ask me back to something and it was really a dig to my ego a little bit, but it was actually what I needed the most in my life, but I never would have had the courage to quit myself. For a lot of the people that maybe didn’t get asked back, or there’s been a shakeup, just focus on what else there is out there and keep your eyes open and let your heart open."
Wise words from Hough, and Artem could definitely use the encouragement, as he was heartbroken over getting cut from the popular show.
The dancing star took to social media shortly after it was revealed he would not be returning.
"I just want to say how sad it makes me feel not to be part of Season 28 of DWTS. It’s been 10 years since I have joined this absolutely, one of a kind, incredible show! It has given me recognition as a dancer, choreographer and a teacher."
While Artem may not be doing the cha-cha on "Dancing With the Stars," he's still finding rhythm with Nikki Bella.
On Wednesday he shared a photo of the two lovebirds slowly dancing together, and appears to be finding personal happiness amid the professional setback.
The new season of "DWTS" premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 PM on ABC.
