TikTok Star Josh Richards Selling 'Buddies Stronger Together' Hoodies To Benefit The NAACP

TikTok mega-star Josh Richards is using his huge platform to raise money for a great cause and help protest the killing of George Floyd.

The 18-year-old social media star is launching a new clothing company called, 'Buddy's Hard,' and is featuring a special item which will 100 percent of the proceeds going to the NAACP.

The item, a black hoodie, will feature the message 'Buddies Stronger Together.'

“My roommate Jaden Hossler and I were sitting down amidst the tragedy and brokenness of our Nation; we felt an innate responsibility to use our platform for something greater than ourselves," Richards tells The Blast.

He continued, "My whole brand “Buddy” revolves around everyone being a buddy/friend and giving a hand to one another. This initiative is just the beginning of our quest to give back. For us to be able to put a smile on one less fortunate person’s face makes this all worth it."

The TikTok star had a message to his followers who are joining him in raising money to combat racial injustice and police brutality.

"I am proud of my supporters for standing with me and proclaiming in unity that we won’t tolerate any form of injustice," he said.

Richards also tweeted he will be personally donating $1,500 to a charity of one of his fan's choice, tweeting, "I also want to help your community! Please Tag a charity that has helped you or a loved one and I’ll pick one to donate $1500 to in your name. Together, as Buddies, we are Stronger!"

“I wanted to do something to help. When I see people going through a tough time, it hurts. I understand the seriousness of these times. I understand the privilege I have with my voice and my platform," the TikTok star told People.com.

As we reported, Josh joins several other celebrities in donating to organizations whose purpose is to fight racial inequality in the United States. Kourtney Kardashian announced this week, she would be making a donation to the NAACP and The Bail Project.

"We are committed to highlighting black and minority-owned businesses, their products, and their stories, as well as making a conscious effort to ensure our team of collaborators and our content and imagery always reflect the diversity of our community," she wrote.
