Johnny Depp Calls Amber Heard's Abuse Accusations A 'Hoax' Says She Built Up As 'Insurance Policy'

By Mike Walters

Johnny Depp claims the abusive allegations by his ex-wife Amber Heard are a "hoax" built up over time to be used as an 'insurance policy' to be used at some point in the future.

According to multiple reports, during today's testimony in the libel case, Depp filed against a UK tabloid, the court heard details of an email written by Heard to Depp in 2013, which she never actually sent.

In the email, Amber claimed the 'Pirates of The Caribbean' star had hurt her 'many times' both 'physically and emotionally.'

“I just don’t know if I can do this anymore. It is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Half of you I love madly, and the other half scares me. I can’t take him. I wish I could, but I can’t," Amber said in the draft email.

She continued, “The problem is, I never really know/understand which one I’m dealing with until it’s too late. “The drinking assures me that I am dealing with the monster. The abused, scared, insecure, violent little boy. I just can’t tell where the line starts.”

But, Depp responded to the email by saying it appeared, “Ms. Heard was building a dossier very early on that appears to be an insurance policy for later."

'Pirates' Star Calls Abuse Allegations A 'Hoax'

A lawyer for the media outlet pressed Depp saying, “Your answer to Ms. Heard’s allegation that you were a serial domestic abuser was that this is a hoax.”

The 'Pirates' star replied, “Hoax is probably the best word one could use because the allegations, all of the allegations, are patently untrue."

He continued, “From hearing you read out this (email), that was not sent to me, and from some of the information I have garnered from my experience yesterday and having studied the case, I will suggest, ma’am, that it appears to me that Ms. Heard was building a dossier very early on that appears to be an insurance policy for later.”

Johnny Depp: "I Did Not Hit Ms. Heard, I Have Never Hit Ms. Heard'

The outlet's defense relies on Heard’s allegations of 14 incidents of violence by Johnny Depp between 2013 and 2016, in locations including Los Angeles, Australia, Japan, the Bahamas.

The 'Pirates' star has been adamant throughout the first two days of the trial he was NEVER violent with Amber, saying, “I did not hit Ms. Heard and furthermore I have never hit Ms. Heard."

Johnny Depp and his legal team have used the word 'hoax' for months leading up to the trial, including in situations pertaining to Depp's defamation lawsuit filed in the U.S.

Depp's team has complied 'evidence' of what they believe to be actions and statements made by 'co-conspirators' in this situation and have submitted declarations of several witnesses to counter allegations made by Amber Heard.

As we reported, the UK trial is set to last three weeks and will feature testimony from Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, and several others including Winona Ryder.
