By Josh Wells

Don't scream with too much excitement, but last year's horror hit, 'A Quiet Place' has a sequel ... and it has started production.

On Monday, John Krasiniki — who starred, co-wrote, and directed the original film — tweeted a teaser photo with the caption "#PartII". The photo on the film slate Krasinki tweeted shows a black and white photograph of the farm where the first film took place.

The post-apocalyptic film takes place in the near future where extraterrestrial creatures have invaded Earth and hunt for humans through the use of their hypersensitive hearing. The original film centered around the survival of The Abbott family, which included a father name Lee (Krasinski), expectant mother Evelyn (Emily Blunt), their hearing-impaired daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and their younger sons Marcus and Beau (Noah Jupe and Cade Woodward) on a farm.

The sleeper hit premiered at South by Southwest Film Festival as the opening-night film in March 2018. Only costing an estimated $17 million to make, the horror-thriller went on to gross $188 million in the US, and an additional $340 million around the globe.

This year in March, The Hollywood Reporter stated that actor Cillian Murphy ('28 Days Later', 'Peaky Blinders') was in discussions to join the sequel. In addition, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are expected to reprise their roles. The Wrap in June reported that 'Child's Play' actor Brian Tyree Henry was also in told to be part of the sequel.
