Krasinski just walked the red carpet Wednesday evening at the Metrograph and NYC for the premiere of “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” Season Two and spoke to E! about the secret to keeping things good with his wife.
“I gotta say it just sort of happens organically. It’s one of those things where I was a huge fan of hers before I even met her, so I continue to be a huge fan of hers in everything she does. So we’re just extremely supportive, we get what the job is and that you gotta travel and do some stuff, but it’s always about coming back home and being together, it’s the most important thing. “
He continued that, “Family for me, it’s a non-negotiable thing. So if I’m honest, I was shooting 6,000 miles away from them, and I flew back every single weekend.”
Krasinski and Blunt have two daughters, Hazel and Violet.
The former star of “The Office” wasn’t joking — when he was shooting the first season of “Jack Ryan” in Canada and Blunt was filming Disney‘s “Mary Poppins” across the pond in London.
They’ve also been big fans of each other’s works, especially when the stars first started dating.
Krasinski revealed to E! that he was almost caught while watching one of Blunt’s early movies, “The Devil Wears Prada.”
“She popped by in between some things and I was watching it. She opened the door and I flipped the channel and she looked at me like, ‘Were you just watching porn?’…I think it was better for me at the time for her to think I was watching porn than watching ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ for the seventy-fifth time.”
Their relationship has always been cute, and even the story of the stars’ first date is a sweet story.
During an interview last year, Blunt was adamant she had asked Krasinski out first, but he disputed her recollection of events.
“No, it was me asking for a while, and you took some time, and then we finally had a date.”
When they finally did go out, it wasn’t to a trendy Hollywood restaurant or event, instead they went to a gun range to pop off some rounds and then opted for a low-key evening at Krasinski’s West Hollywood apartment.
The dinner was pizza, which probably sealed the deal for the two right there.
However, Blunt would not give up the details on whether there was any romance that evening and only said, “It’s so precious, I don’t want to talk about it. Is that all right?”
The “A Quiet Place” stars then got engaged in 2009 and married a year later at George Clooney’s home in Lake Como, Italy.
Krasinski said Clooney had to ask multiple times for them to use his home, and that he thought the “Ocean’s 11” star was joking.
“Only on the fourth ask did I say yes. Because the first three times I thought, There’s no way he is serious. But I started to see his feelings get hurt. I actually hurt George Clooney’s feelings.”
