Joe Giudice Speaks Out About His Marriage Days After 'RHONJ' Finale: 'It Failed'

By Jeff Mazzeo

Joe Giudice said that his marriage of 20-years to Teresa Giudice "failed" despite his best efforts.

The father of four took to Instagram on Saturday to express his disappointment but also make clear that he has always tried to be a good father. His emotional statement comes just days after the "Real Housewives Of New Jersey" Season 10 finale, which featured Joe's reunion with Teresa and his daughters in Italy. His post was a video montage of recent memories, including some he shared with his girls, Gia, 19, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 11, but he got real about his marriage and the show's portrayal of him in the caption.

"No matter how much 💯 energy and time I devoted to trying it failed," Giudice said. "I did my best and put all efforts into making this a great experience for my family. I did try to address issues in the relationship that bothered me throughout the years in return 🎥 portrayed it as Criticism!"

His 'Key Role'

Joe continued his statement with a clear motive for actions and a confession that he has turned his life around since being released from federal custody.

"My key role was to always to be a great father and husband not the 🦹‍♂️. Today I 👀, I can’t allow others to keep lingering toxins and undesirable demands around me. I choose to have a solid foundation with strong and inspiring people around me in 🇮🇹. #inspire #strong #energy #toxicpeople #devote #livingmybestlife #relationshipgoals #italy🇮🇹 🥂 #bestlifenow," he wrote.

Bitersweet Reunion In Italy

The "RHONJ" finale wasn't exactly one big happy family reunion, it showed Teresa's and the girl's first time seeing their father since being released. The family flew to Salerno, Italy, where Joe has been living while he continues to fight his deportation through an appeal process. While overseas, Teresa and Joe sat down face to face and decided to call it quits after 20 years of marriage. The news of their split was reported back in December but the on-camera drama was saved for the big finale.

Teresa And Joe Are On Good Terms

Three days prior to saying his marriage "failed," Joe said that Teresa and he are very amicable and they will continue to co-parent.

"Teresa and I share a bond that can never be broken," he exclaimed. "We are both strong, we are both survivors and only want best for our daughters. No matter what past is done."

"We want to go forward to teach girls all marriages do not end in hate. Love is real and co-parenting is possible. Our daughters are always loved by both of us and now it’s time to start new chapter in our lives!#familyfirst #familytime #daughters #nextchapterinlife #coparentingdoneright."
