Jill Duggar’s recent posts about her car have got fans running in all directions.
Duggar, who appeared on “19 Kids And Counting” and “Counting On,” is the fourth of the 19 kids in the Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar clan.
Jill Duggar now has a family of her own, and since she and husband Derick Dillard were kicked off TLC, they’ve been keeping fans up to date with their own issues, including several snafus with their car.
In Duggar’s Instagram Story, she talked about her broken car window and how they had to tape up plastic to keep out the air.
But there was a hole in the plastic, so whenever they drove, the hole would create a nasty sound, which was freaking out their son, Samuel, 2.
Fans had some thoughts about the whole thing, and offered their own opinions.
“This is flat-out very unkind and unfeeling actions towards a child. … To subject him to the cold and wind sounds in a moving car without a window and then laugh about it on social demonstrates a very low level of empathy and concern on your part,” said one.
Another fan thought of a solution:
“Wouldn’t his seat have fit in the middle? Then you could have sat in the back seat next to the open window and taken the brunt of the wind and rain.”
Duggar also posted about the car breaking down with sons Israel , 4, and Samuel shown having a snack break in the trunk of the car. A stroller separates the two.
Jill explained what happened:
“Our car wouldn’t start after church today (back hatch wasn’t locked shut so lights were on) and we had so many offers for help and then some friends brought us snacks and cold water! Our people are the best! #churchfamily #friends #support #carprobs #impromptupicnic.”
“When you break down, just make sure you’re surrounded by your church family,” she added.
One fan was glad to see that everyone was okay:
“It is so awesome to have support like that. Hope you got the car started and all of you are back home safe.”
But some aren’t sure why she’s going through all this, alluding to the fact that they do have money.
“Since I’m sure you have the money, maybe y’all should buy a new car instead of an old used one,” said one person.
Maybe a family trip to the local used-car lot will be the next Instagram story.
