JetBlue is doing their part to show that love and humanity still exists in the world because they, along with local police, provided major assistance to the family of a woman who was killed in Sunday’s massacre.
While her husband survived, Rhonda LeRocque lost her life in the mass murder, and her family needed help covering expenses as they flew out to Las Vegas from Tewksbury, MA.
Sources close to the situation tell us JetBlue took care of a large portion, and possibly all of the expenses, for the flight to Vegas and back to Tewksbury.
We’re told when the husband and family returned from Vegas, they were met on the runway of Boston Logan Int’l Airport by the Tewksbury Police Department with lights flashing and officers saluting. Tewksbury PD then provided an escort for the 40-minute drive home where more officers waited to salute and give their condolences.
We’re told the Tewksbury PD will also be providing round-the-clock security at the house to make sure the family has their privacy.
That’s not all — JetBlue and Tewksbury PD will be repeating their services for the family when Rhonda’s body is released and returned home to her final resting place.
A rep for Tewksbury PD tells us they didn’t know Rhonda personally, but the department doesn’t hesitate to help out in a devastating situation.
JetBlue tells us, “While we cannot confirm any specific customer details, JetBlue has a long history of supporting the communities we serve, and are assisting those impacted by the events in Las Vegas.”
