Jessica Simpson Blows Off Animal Rights Activists, Wears Fur After Protestors Crash Book Event

By Whitney Vasquez

Jessica Simpson is defying animal rights activists everywhere by sporting an oversized fur coat despite protestors swarming her book event just days ago. The 39-year-old "Open Book" author has been making waves with her fashion choices during her press tour but one theme animal activists can't get on board with is every time she throws on fur. As The Blast reported, just four days ago a number of protestors interrupted her live talks event with Katherine Schwarzenegger, holding up signs and begging Jessica Simpson to stop wearing fur. One person wore a shirt calling the singer an "animal abuser."

Proudly Wearing Fur:

Obviously, the blonde beauty isn't taking the criticism too seriously because on Wednesday she strapped on a floor-length fur coat and posed up a storm on social media. The mom of three showed off her tan jacket in the snow after leaving Chicago for her latest book signing. Matching her look in a monochromatic number, Jessica Simpson appeared to be giving protestors the finger with her fur ensemble. When one fan commented, "Oh that fur? Those PETA people are gonna lose their minds girl! 🤣," she simply responded with three kissing face emojis.

Blowing Off Critics:

While Jessica Simpson is blowing off the recent protesting events, her recent post has reignited them and several are blasting her as well as her supporters on Instagram over these pictures. "Animals lose their whole lives for a jacket that a celebrity wears once, it’s funny how you seem to be okay with that," one person responded. "You [sic] sick for wanting to hurt animals for your pleasure," stated another. "I wonder if you’d be saying the same thing if your dog was getting skinned alive so she can wear it," questioned someone else.

Facing Her Protestors:

As The Blast reported, Jessica Simpson's book event Monday was just the latest appearance that animal rights activists have crashed. They also showed up to protest at a book signing last week in New York City. This time, the singer took control of the situation and addressed the hecklers head-on. "God bless you guys! It's beautiful that you stand up for what you believe, but not through hatred," she told the activists. "These are the types of moments where you know, when you're trying to speak about helping other people get through their own problems and their life, and when you talk about god, that is when darkness tries to seep in," she continued. Applying her faith into the situation, Jessica Simpson added, "And I know that god is stronger than that and nothing will hold me back from my calling."
