Jessi Combs died tragically on Tuesday while attempted to break her own landspeed record.
The “Overhaulin” and “Mythbusters” host was beloved by fans and colleagues. In the wake of the news, remembrances of Combs began pouring in.
Famous hot rod designer Chip Foose, with whom Combs co-hosted “Overhaulin” on TLC from 2004-2008, shared his own tribute to the 36-year-old on Instagram.
“So sad to hear of Jessi’s passing, I will miss her and so will our industry,” Foose wrote. “She attacked all her projects with a smile and 110% passion. She chased her dream to be the fastest and she was.”
He continued, “Remembering the better times and sharing this picture of the first time I met her as a WyoTech student from our Season 1 Overhaulin build.
God speed Jessi.”
Combs was piloting a jet-powered car on the Alvord Desert in Oregon when she lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the fatal crash.
