Singer Jennifer Lopez spoke about the upcoming Super Bowl, soon after it was announced she and Shakira will perform during the game's halftime show in January.

Ready To Rock

The announcement came down Thursday that the two would be headlining one of the biggest nights on TV.

J. Lo is pumped. She spoke with Us Weekly and shared her thoughts on the news.

"I don’t know if any of you have been to any of my shows, but I love performing and I’m super excited. We had an amazing tour this summer, so I feel really in shape for a show right now. I’m excited!"

Lopez also recognized the double bill of her and Shakira was a bit of a moment for must-watch television like the Super Bowl.

"It’s a huge platform, big stage to perform on — one of the biggest shows of the year — and every artist dreams of doing it. I’m so excited that they chose two strong women, but also Latinas."

She says she's "happy to be a part of this new movement of inclusivity and diversity and embracing women."

Broadway On the Field

J. Lo says both of them are excited for the opportunity, which always seems fairly brief, but is a Broadway show in itself.

"I saw her this week when we took the pictures and stuff, and we’re both over the moon and want to bring our brand of what we do, our music, our celebration and our culture to that stage for 15 minutes," Lopez said.
