Jennifer Lopez says the man suing her over using an Instagram photo of herself can continue with his lawsuit, he's just gotta find find the star first and serve her the papers.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Lopez is demanding a lawsuit filed against her by a photographer be thrown out of court because the singer is claiming the photog never served her with the documents, even though he believes he did.
Lopez says the man tried to serve her attorney but she says that does not count. She wants the entire lawsuit dismissed but says if the man "wishes" to move his case forward, he will have to serve her personally.
As The Blast first reported, a photographer named Michael Stewart sued the singer, saying he took a photo of J. Lo walking through New York City. The photographer claims he licensed the photo to the Daily Mail, who ran it in an article on their website on June 29, 2018.
Stewart says Lopez then used the photo on her Instagram, without his permission. He claims to be the author of the photograph and even registered it with the United States Copyright Office.
Jennifer Lopez is just the latest in an increasing line of celebs who are being sued for this same thing. Odell Beckham Jr., Jessica Simpson and Blac Chyna are just three of the famous folk who are involved in legal battles over this issue.
