The legend of the Stan Lee cameo will live on in the new Jay and Silent Bob movie.
Kevin Smith was seen on set in Los Angeles this week as “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” filming began. Smith was rocking his traditional Silent Bob garb of a long green jacket and backwards baseball cap.
Jason Mewes was also seen ready to rock with a script while walking to set. Along with the title characters, actor Jason Lee is reprising his “Mallrats” role of Brodie Bruce.
This go-round, Lee switched out his old shirt for one bearing the face of the late Marvel legend, Stan Lee. Lee was a huge mentor to Smith, and the director has openly shared how much Lee’s death effected him.
The first day back apparently went great, and Smith revealed that the movie will in fact start back at the Mall at Brodie Bruce’s comic store. Lee actually appeared in “Mallrats” back in 1995, so it’s only fitting that he is paid tribute.
