UPDATE 05/20:

Jaime King's husband is now responding to her divorce filing, telling The Blast in a statement:

“Kyle was deeply saddened by Jaime’s attempt to obtain court orders based solely on false claims without providing him any opportunity to respond. As a result, he was extremely pleased that the judge nevertheless permitted their children to remain in his care. As Kyle continues to solo parent, as he has done throughout this pandemic, he remains entirely focused on putting the children’s stability and welfare first. Kyle wants nothing but the best for his whole family and hopes that Jaime can find the peace and help she needs.”

Actress Jaime King has filed for divorce from her husband, Kyle Newman, after more than 13 years of marriage.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, King filed for dissolution of marriage Monday with the Los Angeles County Court.

There has also been a request for a temporary restraining order by King against Newman, but that order is still being processed.

The filing comes on the heels of reports the couple is quarantining separately, with Jaime in California and Kyle staying in Pennsylvania with the couple's two children.

According to reports, the couple has been "taking time apart to focus on themselves."

However, there is an emergency hearing in the case on the court there may be some issues with their split.

Just two years ago, King addressed her relationship with Newman, talking about how to make a marriage work in Hollywood.

“I think it’s also about each person individually having things that they love. When each person individually is learning how to be fulfilled, whether it be through other friendships, through work, through creativity,” she told Us Weekly.

King continued, “When you’re fulfilled as a human being, then you’re not just relying on your spouse to give you what it is that you need, which I think is sort of a tendency with a lot of long-term relationships.”
