Alana’s sister Pumpkin is now her de facto guardian.
Since finding fame on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, “Mama June” Shannon has remained in the public eye with Mama June: From Not To Hot. Unfortunately, she has also continued toxic behavior that has endangered her children, including a drug arrest and an abusive boyfriend.
Her daughter, Alana, a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo, is taking steps to protect the money that she’s earned from various TLC shows from her mother’s spending habits, which allegedly includes gambling and drug use. According to TMZ, a rep for the 13-year-old is working with an attorney to move her money into an account that will be inaccessible to June.
Alana is currently living with her 19-year-old sister Lauryn a.k.a. Pumpkin, who is serving as her de facto guardian and will be able to access the account in order to provide for Alana. She’s required to provide receipts to prove that the money is only spent for Alana’s care and needs.
The family is increasingly worried about June, who is gambling heavily and creating an unstable home environment with her boyfriend, Geno Doak.
