Heidi Klum's Trainer Gives Meghan Markle Royal Thumbs Up for Pregnant Yoga

By TheBlast Staff

Heidi Klum's trainer is giving Meghan Markle the green light for downward dog, encouraging her to continue practicing yoga throughout her pregnancy.

The Blast spoke with celebrity fitness expert Andrea Orbeck, who helped a pregnant Klum practice prenatal yoga. Orbeck says it's completely safe for Meghan to continue her training, and claims the benefits could help the Duchess of Sussex with her pregnancy sleeping issues.

Meghan spoke out this week about the difficulties of her pregnancy, and revealed her sleeping issues have her up at 4:30 AM doing yoga to relax.

Andrea says the Duchess is right on point, because yoga helps with breathing, flexibility, core conditioning, blood flow and center of gravity -- all essential to a healthy pregnancy, and eventually an easier delivery.

Andrea isn't the only star-studded trainer speaking the praises of the poses. Kristine McGee, who's worked with Jennifer Lawrence, Tina Fey and Bethenny Frankel when she was pregnant, says yoga is a beautiful and safe way to connect with your body and baby through pregnancy.

McGee, who also appeared on "30 Rock," tells The Blast since Meghan is a longtime practitioner (her mom is a yoga teacher and she began regularly doing yoga in college), she knows what she's doing. In fact, it's one of the safest and most natural tools to help with discomfort brought on from pregnancy and labor.

Along with the positives about yoga, both trainers also have some warnings as Markle's pregnancy progresses into her second and third trimester. They urge Markle to avoid positions that put her upside down, keep her on her back for long periods of time or moves that transition her on her growing bump. Hot yoga is also out of the question.

Basically, less sideways crane and more child's pose.
