Halle Berry has been injured during a fight scene on the set of her new Mixed Martial Arts movie, “Bruised.”
The movie scheduled to film at a gym in Newark, New Jersey on Monday but the production has been delayed to allow the 53-year-old some recovery time, according to NJ Advance Media.

“Halle got slightly injured in the fight,” Brian Pitt, the executive producer of “Bruised”, told NJ Advance Media. “She’s tired. She needed a break.”
Pitt would not elaborate on exactly how the star was injured or what body suffered the damage but he did say it was “nothing serious.”
“Occasionally what’s going to happen is an actor might get a little injured, and we might adjust scheduling around them a little bit.”
The film was all set up to shoot at Mack’s Elite Heat Boxing Gym in New Jersey and there were several signs that said the gym would be closed during the filming of Halle’s flick.
NJ Advance Media reports that the filming is set to resume on Friday.

Halle plays Jackie an MMA fighter who fights under the name, “Justice.” Her character is going through a hard time and has to get her life back together so she can regain custody of her young son. Of course, she goes about it the only way she knows how, by kicking serious butt. Berry not only stars in the new movie but it will also be her directorial debut.
She told Entertainment Weekly that she was already training for “Bruised” back in May and described why she is so keen on this film.
“It’s a movie about a woman who once had a promising MMA career, she was going up the ranks of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), and then something unthinkable happened that derailed her career, and we find her five years later, and she has to make her way back. It’s a movie I’m extremely passionate about. It has a wonderful message. I think it’s a message that women need to hear.”
Over the last year or so, Halle has been training like an animal and has even received extensive training from some of the world’s best MMA fighters. Back in February, Halle attended a UFC fight and posed for a picture with pro-fighter Brian Ortega. Berry tweeted the cute picture out to her millions of followers and announced that Ortega would be one of her trainers.
“All about this #ManCrushMonday, @BrianTcity – the #1 @UFC ranked featherweight ??! So grateful he said yes to training with me in preparation for #BruisedTheMovie, and cannot wait to share what we cook up together ?,” Halle wrote in her tweet.
Ortega shared the same photo and said, “I’ll gladly take the man crush Monday from you @halleberry , I’m honored and happy to train with you.”
