Earlier this week, Disney announced they found their new princess with singer Halle Bailey for the new “The Little Mermaid.”

Bailey, who is 1/2 of the R&B group Chloe x Halle, scored the role of Ariel in Disney's live-action adaption of "The Little Mermaid."

The 19-year-old star was reportedly a top candidate from the start of auditions, according to Variety, who first reported the news.

The live-action reboot is set to feature original songs from the 1989 animated classic, plus new songs from legendary Disney composer Alan Menken, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Rob Marshall is set to direct the film who is known for his work on such hit musicals as “Mary Poppins Returns”, “Into the Woods” and “Chicago.”

Bailey will also join co-stars Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina, who recently landed a role in the "Jumanji" sequel alongside The Rock.

Melissa McCarthy is campaigning to score the role of Ursula, the evil sea queen ... but has not been cast, yet.

Singer Lizzo has also thrown her hat in the ring (and has been for some time) trying to get the role of Ursula.

Following reports of McCarthy being in the running for the role, the singer reposted a 2018 video of her belting out the famous tune, "Poor Unfortunate Souls."

Chloe x Halle are sisters from Atlanta, GA and shot to stardom after doing covers of Beyoncé on YouTube before being discovered by the singer.

They later appeared in Beyoncé's visual album for "Lemonade," and opened for her on the European leg of "The Formation Tour."

They were also signed by Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé's record label and are considered the music mogul’s proteges.

The spot in "The Little Mermaid" will be Halle's first feature-film role.

The singer has even more to celebrate with Chloe x Halle releasing a new music video this week for their track, "who knew."
