Halle Berry won’t be making a trip to Alaska for a Palin family reunion anytime soon.
The actress had a harsh response after the show, “Daily Blast LIVE” (not affiliated with us) reminded the world that Berry is distant relatives with former Vice President candidate, Sarah Palin via Twitter.
“This pair shares roots that may seem like they’re from different trees, but @halleberry and former VP candidate @SarahPalinUSA are distant relatives — though the actual connection is unclear,” the show tweeted.
The shocking revelation actually came about in 2012 when Berry did a thorough investigation into her genealogy that confirmed the connection. However, Halle didn’t take too kindly to the reminder.
“She may be on the tree but she ‘AINT invited to the cookout.?” Halle responded.
For those who don’t know, being “invited to the cookout” is a common expression used to convey that someone isn’t cool enough to hang out.
Halle’s millions of followers sounded off in the comments, while some found her response funny others didn’t like the shade.
“The actual connection is unclear, but the disconnection is very clear,” one follower commented, while another said, “Halle said what she said & meant it.”
“Eh… isn’t this the problem in our country today?? Can’t have differing opinions and still treat each other as human beings. Gotta shun ppl instead. Sad,” one fan wrote.
It doesn’t seem like a lot of her followers would have Palin at their cookout either.
“Definitely a Becky who would put raisins in the potato salad,” a fan tweeted.
Halle and Sarah have always had differences in opinions when it comes to politics. Berry participated in a telephone campaign in 2008 for President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Of course, they were running against the late Senator John McCain and Palin.
Both ladies are very spiritual and in good shape so maybe they could find common ground by hitting the gym but we wouldn’t recommend a sparring session because Halle has been putting serious MMA work.
