Pop star Selena Gomez is back after taking nearly a year off, and her new single “Lose You To Love Me” is getting people talking already. The post break up ballad seems to allude to her former relationship with Justin Bieber, who Gomez dated off and on from 2010 to 2018.
A few of the song’s lyrics seem to be able their relationship, particularly “In two months you replaced us/ Like it was easy/ Made me think I deserved it, in the thick of healing.”
Gomez and Bieber broke up for good in April 2018, and by June he was dating Hailey Baldwin, who he would go on to marry in 2019.
Well, Hailey Bieber seems to have heard the kiss off track, because she seemingly responded to it in her Instagram stories. In response to “Lose You To Love Me,” Bieber posted the song “I’ll Kill You” by Summer Walker. Damn.
While Bieber claims that it’s unrelated, that seems awfully unlikely considering how Gomez is dominating the discourse today.
Selena Gomez released a song (stream for clear skin) about her life experiences w an ex and leaving him behind (Justin Bieber now married to Hailey Baldwin) and like 5 minutes later Hailey Baldwin posted this. Gomez seemed to respond to Bieber’s diss with a note on Instagram saying “See the enemy keeps trying to tear me down and it’s not gonna happen. Not today. Not the next….”
She could be talking about a more metaphorical enemy, but this seems rather pointed.
Either way, we can’t wait to hear what Gomez releases next!
