The ex-girlfriend Gunplay allegedly attacked in Miami has now filed a lawsuit against him for battery and says the rapper was also violent against her during their relationship.

According to documents filed in Miami-Dade County, Aneka Johnston says she dated the "Love and Hip Hop: Miami" star from 2010-2012, and during that period of time, he "was known to act violently" towards herself and others. She says his "harmful and destructive behavior" was the reason she ended her relationship with the rapper.

Johnston alleges Gunplay became hostile towards her when he showed up to The Office strip club with his girlfriend and LHHM co-star, Keyara. She claims he attacked and head-butted her, causing injuries to her head, face and eye.

"Gunplay has a long history of committing violence and domestic abuse. He has made a living out of glorifying crime and harmful conduct on people, including women. Ms. Johnston was working and didn’t deserve to be attacked. She has previously been a victim of Gunplay’s domestic violence and ended her relationship with him years ago because of his ongoing abuse. Gunplay’s celebrity status does not allow him to act above the law. No amount of fame or fortune justifies Gunplay’s shameful and outrageous conduct. This lawsuit will send Gunplay a message and deter his misbehavior in the future. We will seek punitive damages against him as allowed by Florida law.”

DiCowden has experience dealing with high profile cases, including two lawsuits against Justin Bieber and one against Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter.

As for criminal charges against Gunplay, police have referred Johnston to the Florida State Attorney's office.
