Gloria Govan Finishes Anger Management & Wants More Time with the Kids

By TheBlast Staff

"Basketball Wives" star Gloria Govan is done with her court ordered therapy and now wants to get back the time with her children that was taken away by the court after her arrest during a tirade with Matt Barnes.

Govan filed a request for a custody modification in her case with her ex-husband, and is trying to explain to the court why it's in the best interest of the former couple's two children that she regain more custody.

The reality star revealed she recently completed her 10 parenting sessions and 26 anger management courses, which were ordered after her arrest last year during a custody exchange with Barnes at the children's school.

Govan wants the custody scheduled reverted back to the way it was before her arrest, which gave the stars joint custody of the twin boys. During their court battle, Govan lost the majority of her custody, as well as a sizable monthly child support payment.

In regards to her arrest, Govan says she believes the entire issue could have been avoided if a formal holiday schedule was in place, and blames the incident over confusion with the Labor Day weekend.

Govan argues it will be in the best interest of the children to give her more custody, as she believes she can provide a more stable environment for the children during the school week.

She also says, "I realize that no matter how much Matt and I may not get along, our children come first and I want to do everything in my power to make sure they are safe, healthy and flourishing emotionally, physically and psychologically.

A judge has not yet ruled on her request, nor has Barnes responded to the proposed modification.
