What's black and blue and red all over? The "Annihilation" premiere!

Gina Rodriguez, Natalie Portman, and Janelle Monáe donned black and blue looks on the red carpet for their new film.

(Please don't judge us for the corny dad joke.)

Monáe was also sporting a new red carpet trend: boots. Kerry Washington and Hailee Steinfeld both recently kicked it up a notch by pairing boots with gowns.

The film is based on Jeff VanderMeer’s best-selling Southern Reach Trilogy and also stars Tuva Novotny, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tessa Thompson.

"Annihilation" premieres February 23.
