Floyd Mayweather has spoken out for the first time since his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris‘ death, paying tribute by sharing several throwbacks with the mother of three of his children. The champion boxer took to social media on Friday, three days after she was found dead in her car, to address the tragic incident. Keeping it short but sweet, Floyd Mayweather shared more than 10 separate posts of his late ex. In one photo, a young Floyd Mayweather is seen smiling and embracing Josie Harris. “My Angel,” he captioned the loving snap.
In another throwback, Josie Harris is seen smiling alongside their two sons, Zion and Koraun, who appeared as babies in the snap. “My Family,” the fighter wrote. He also posted a picture of him planting a kiss on the side of her cheek. “My kiss,” he captioned the sweet snap. Floyd Mayweather continued to post several photos of Josie Harris over the years calling her things like: “My Love,” My Sunshine,” “My Sweetheart,” “My Friend,” and “My Rock.” Floyd Mayweather’s tribute comes days after Josie Harris’ body was discovered inside her car. Sheriff’s deputies arrived at her home near Santa Clarita, CA on Tuesday evening where she was pronounced dead on the scene.
Josie Harris was 40 years old. The former duo share three children together. Besides the two boys, who are 20 and 18, they also have a 15-year-old daughter, Jirah. Officials are still handling the case as a death investigation and not as a homicide, according to CNN. Sheriff’s investigators and the coroner’s office are currently working to determine the cause of death, The Associated Press reported on Thursday. Following Josie Harris’ death, Floyd Mayweather showed himself partying in the red light district of Amsterdam. The fighter posted several photos and videos showing himself in the famous alleys known for its legal prostitution, adult theaters, and sex shops.
Floyd Mayweather and Josie Harris had a volatile relationship riddled with domestic violence. In 2010, the boxer was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of domestic battery. In 2015, Josie Harris slapped him with a $20 million defamation suit, claiming he lied about her during his interview with Katie Couric. The fighter told the talk show host that Josie Harris was on drugs and he was trying to hold her back on the night of their 2010 fight. She denied those claims. Floyd Mayweather and Josie Harris were set to battle it out in court on December 7, 2020.
