For her role in Operation Varsity Blues — paying $15,000 to get her daughter’s SAT scores changed by an admissions consultant — Felicity Huffman was ordered to spend 14 days in a federal prison in Dublin, California. Dubbed “Club Fed,” the prison in question is a pretty cushy situation as far as correctional facilities go.
However, it’s been revealed that Huffman will only serve 13 days of her already light two week sentence.
In an apology statement, Huffman is in full admission of her guilt.
“I am pleading guilty to the charge brought against me by the United States Attorney’s Office. I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”
She continued, apologizing to all of the people that she has hurt through her actions.
“I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues, and the educational community. I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.
My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions, and in my misguided and profoundly wrong way, I have betrayed her. This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life. My desire to help my daughter is no excuse to break the law or engage in dishonesty.”
Her words have fallen on deaf ears on Twitter, as many people have pointed out how her extremely lenient sentence doesn’t fit the crime.

Others have called this a miscarriage of justice, especially now that she isn’t even serving the full sentence. Huffman’s whole situation is a prime example of white privilege and the advantages that the ultra wealthy have.
Lori Loughlin committed an arguably worse crime and hasn’t been contrite in any way, so we’ll have to wait and see what her sentence ends up being.

What a joke….PUBLIC-DEFENDERS do your jobs…. you need to revoke and re-open all those cases where the poor citizens is spending years in jail for much lesser offenses & reference this case https://t.co/RupZN90Snq— Les (@Politisourceful) October 16, 2019
