Roseanne Barr inadvertently left a reporter in a tough spot yesterday when he was ticketed for speeding to the set of "Extra" to talk about her racist tweets and subsequent show cancelation.
Lucky for him, sources tell The Blast that the show is offering to foot the bill.
The executive editor of IndieWire, Michael Schneider, tweeted out a copy of the traffic ticket a Glendale cop handed him after getting caught driving over the speed limit. Schneider revealed in his tweet that he gave the officer and honest answer when he asked why he was in such a hurry.
However, Mario Lopez is apparently not the get-out-of-jail-free card he hoped.
"ABC just canceled 'Roseanne' after Roseanne Barr wrote some horrible racist Tweets and I need [to] get to Universal Studios to talk about it with Mario Lopez on 'Extra,'" Schneider wrote. "Turns out this does not get you out of a ticket from the GPD."
We're told, however, that Schneider doesn't have to pay the ticket himself because "Extra" is willing to pony up the dough.
Just another reason to love Mario Lopez (after those dimples, of course).
